Preparations are complete for holding the 60th anniversary of the first session of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in a grand manner.

The first session was held on June 18, 1952.

Briefing presspersons on the preparations for the event, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister S. Suresh Kumar and Speaker K.G. Bopaiah said the programme would be held in the Assembly Hall and it would commence at 11 a.m. on Monday.

The inaugural ceremony of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation summit was also held in the Assembly Hall in 1986.

Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda would inaugurate the photo exhibition outside the Banquet Hall at the Secretariat on Sunday at 6 p.m.

On Monday, Governor H.R. Bhardwaj would preside over the function.
