Shirdi bus tragedy: Chaos at Osmania mortuary

With no information forthcoming either from the district administration or the hospital authorities about the status of their kin, relatives of the ill-fated Shirdi bus passengers pined for hours on near the mortuary gates of Osmania General Hospital on Saturday.
Chaos prevailed at the hospital mortuary with nobody giving information even on when the bodies could arrive. Worse still, many did not even know if their kin were alive.
Photos of the deceased displayed inside served no purpose as both the gates leading to the mortuary were closed for the relatives and guarded by huge contingents of police.
To add to the woes, the police personnel posted near the gates did not know anything about the incident.
The first batch of bodies arrived only at about 7.10 p.m., ending nearly six-hour wait of the aggrieved relatives.
