BSY slams govt on job guarantee scheme

Former Karnataka's chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has again trained guns on his party government, this time on implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in the State.
“The Union Government is eager to provide Rs.5,000 crore for the job guarantee scheme. But the programme has not been implemented effectively in the State,” Yeddyurappa told mediapersons in Shimoga on Sunday.
Deputy Chief Minister K S Eshwarappa was also present at the press meet.Yeddyurappa, often targetting the BJP dispensation these days, said the State government should make proper use of the funds available for the scheme.
He suggested the government to make suitable changes to ensure better utilisation of money.
